ACTIVITY 1 – Levels of government [FCAT: Reading Comp]

  • SS 3 C 3 1 Identify the levels of government (local, state, federal).

The teacher will introduce and discuss each level of government (local, state, and federal).

Students will then complete a worksheet where they will be required to read scenarios and identify which government level should be involved for a solution to the scenario (see Appendix C).


ACTIVITY 2 – Need for government [FCAT: Writes]

  • SS 3 C 1 1 Explain the purpose and need for government.

The teacher will discuss with the students, the need for government in the world we live in and our lives.

The students will write a paragraph on the following writing prompt: What life would be like without a government, should we have a government or not, why?
