Local elementary students travel the Road to the White House

On Wednesday, April 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 130 3rd and 4th grade students from Boca Raton-based AD Henderson elementary school were on campus for “The Road to the White House" event to get hands-on lessons about the American political system. The event included a debate at the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center, site of the Oct. 22 presidential debate, on the topic: “Which is better, the First Dog or the First Cat?” After the debate was over, the students voted by state (similar to the electoral college) to determine the winner. The local NBC affiliate WPTV ran this story about the event and there is also a photo gallery of the fun.
